Danielle is an Associate in Osler’s Competition/Antitrust Law, International Trade and Foreign Investment Group. Danielle’s primary focus is on International Trade, advising on trade remedies, free-trade agreements, trade policy, World Trade Organization (WTO) disputes, customs, import/export control, and sanctions.
Danielle also has vast experience in Competition/Antitrust and Foreign Investment matters including merger review, abuse of dominance and other anti-competitive practices investigations and litigation, and marketing/advertising law matters under the Competition Act, and net benefit, national security and cultural sector reviews under the Investment Canada Act.
Prior to specializing in international trade and competition issues, Danielle was a regulatory and environmental lawyer based in Calgary, Alberta. Danielle focused on energy, natural resources and mining development with an emphasis on environmental, regulatory and Indigenous matters. Danielle draws on her in-depth knowledge in a number of highly specialized and technical fields to provide a unique perspective to clients, offering subject-matter expertise informed by a deep understanding of the broader legal and political framework.
Danielle serves as a member of 4-H Canada’s Board of Directors and a Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s International Trade Committee. Danielle has previously been a term lecturer at the University of Alberta for Competition & Antitrust Law.
An avid outdoorswoman and passionate athlete, Danielle has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Everest Base Camp, is a certified Swift Water Rescue Technician and Wilderness First-Aid Responder, and was a member of the University of Toronto Varsity Women’s Lacrosse Team.
