David is a partner in Osler’s Emerging and High Growth Companies Practice Group based in Toronto. With a focus on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate/commercial matters, he advises emerging companies throughout their lifecycles, as well as the venture capital, private equity, strategic and other investors that finance or buy them.
As a trusted advisor to Canadian technology companies and their domestic and international investors for more than a decade, David combines legal expertise with responsive, solutions-driven client service and strategic business acumen. Broadly experienced with corporate formation and governance matters, venture capital and private equity financing transactions and a variety of acquisition and divestiture transaction structures for both buyers and sellers, he is deeply embedded in all aspects of the emerging and high growth company ecosystem.
David also works with the founders shaping the future of Canada’s technology and science sector that are connected to several local and national innovation, incubator and business accelerator initiatives, leading workshops on fundraising, M&A and other related topics.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Studies, David completed his JD degree at Queen’s University.
