Sophie Courville-Le Bouyonnec

Sophie is a litigation lawyer based in Montreal. She advises and represents clients in all aspects of business-related litigation before trial and appellate courts as well as administrative tribunals.

Her practice covers civil and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on contractual disputes, administrative law and regulatory investigations, class action defence and civil liability. Sophie also has experience in insolvency and restructuring matters, where she has acted for debtors, creditors, court-appointed officers, and purchasers in proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangements Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.

During her studies, Sophie served as a law clerk to a judge of the Superior Court of Québec. She was also recognized for her written advocacy, receiving the best factum award at the Laskin Moot, a prestigious national moot court competition. Sophie now contributes to the legal community as a volunteer judge and member of the Steering Committee for the Laskin Moot.
